Lindsay Clancy wrote of wanting fourth child two months before children's deaths, trooper testifies
A Massachusetts state trooper testified Thursday that Lindsay Clancy wrote in a phone Notes app entry dated Nov. 3, 2022 — two months before she allegedly strangled her three children — that she wanted a fourth child but recognized she needed a therapist first.
Trooper Timothy Chiappini, who analyzed Clancy's cellphone, testified about the journal-like entry during her murder trial in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
In the entry, Clancy wrote: 'I really want a fourth child but I need a good therapist before then.' She also wrote: 'I don't want Cal to be our last but I have a lot of figuring out to do.'
Clancy had given birth approximately six months before writing the entry and was reportedly suffering from postpartum mental illnesses including severe postpartum anxiety at the time.
She is accused of strangling Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months old, in January 2023. The trial is ongoing.
